Resumo
A relação entre a humanidade e a energia sempre foi essencial para o progresso, sendo inicialmente suprida por fontes não renováveis como os combustíveis fósseis. No entanto, esses recursos causam danos ambientais, principalmente devido à emissão de CO2 e à sua limitação. Embora fontes renováveis, como a solar e a eólica, ofereçam alternativas sustentáveis, sua eficiência ainda é insuficiente para atender plenamente a demanda energética global. Nesse cenário, a energia nuclear se destaca como uma opção viável e limpa, especialmente a fusão nuclear, que promete alta eficiência sem emissões de carbono. Ainda em desenvolvimento, a fusão enfrenta desafios técnicos, como a necessidade de materiais que resistam a temperaturas extremas nos reatores Tokamak. Esta pesquisa foca nos componentes promissores para essa tecnologia, com destaque para o ITER, o primeiro reator experimental de fusão que servirá de base para futuras aplicações em larga escala.
